Tech News: Google Launches A Healthcare-Focused LLM
Google has unveiled MedLM, a collection of foundation models tailored for the healthcare industry, making it available to selected Google Cloud customers in the United States via the Vertex AI platform.
Currently, under MedLM, two models are built on Med-PaLM 2. The first MedLM model, larger in size, is designed for complex tasks. The second model, of medium size, is adaptable for fine-tuning and excels in scaling across tasks.
Major tech vendors continuously compete to upgrade their AI platforms with regular enhancements, as projections show the global healthcare AI market will reach nearly 188 billion U.S. dollars by 2030.
